What’s on

Each session would include an aspect to consider how other forms of oppression intersect with the theme under consideration.

20 August 2014 The first meeting is happening on Wednesday 20th August 7pm at Birkbeck (room TBC). The meeting will consist of two main discussions: one on activist fatigue (wondering what the point of activism is and how we can make our activism in this group useful); and one on specific forms of privilege and power. Before the meeting we will read the following texts:
1) Give up activism: http://www.eco-action.org/dod/no9/activism.htm
2) Why I don’t want to talk about race: http://goodmenproject.com/ethics-values/why-i-dont-want-to-talk-about-race/
3) Why I want to talk about race, and why you should too: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sarah-j-jackson/talking-about-race_b_1087356.html
4) Things I’m expected to do for cis peopl e: http://radtransfem.tumblr.com/post/18434234442/things-im-expected-to-do-for-cis-people-in-return-for
